Friend of Rimbaud, Verlaine, Baudelaire, Hugo'Theodore de Banville, the Poet, gave his name to one of the most romantic hotel of the capital.Built in 1927 in the purest Art-Deco style by the architect Jerome Bellat, it was acquired in 1967 by Marianne Moreau's family, current owner and manager of the hotel. Since then, three generations have succeeded one another, transmitting with passion their love for beauty, genuineness and hospitality. Marianne, with the help of her husband, the architect Laurent Moreau, designed everything new in the building, opening a new chapter in the Banville Hotel?s history.
Front desk - Bar: The materials have been chosen carefully to create bright and cosy spaces... The heart and soul of the living room is expressed around the piano, the chimney and the old paintings.

Piano Bar: Every Tuesday evening, enjoy live music by the grand-piano and the fireplace. The lobby transforms itself into a music den where you will be surrounded by wonderful music and will enjoy delightful moments. A duet, pianist and singer, ensures our guests lovely evenings to the sound of Jazz and standards of the French classical repertory.
Program: aperitif, drinks and ?tapas? From 6.30 PM until 10.00 PM, open to everybody
Corridors: The corridors and stairway in the Hotel de Banville opt for simplicity and elegance. In keeping with the 1930s architecture, Parisian stone walls, marble and the highly ornamental black rail are now highlighted by the deep red of the room doors and the linen drapes at the windows. The ultimate detail comes with the unusual floor lighting accentuating the plate glass thresholds that are engraved with the room numbers.
Classic rooms: These rooms, all different in style and setting, are however all equal in spaciousness, comfort and each offer a pleasant change of atmosphere while keeping a charming privacy.
Superior rooms :
Leonor fini - the patina?s ochre combine smoothly with the red chalk drawings from the famous painter whom the room is dedicated to. The artist's modernity is also remarkable in the beautiful slate-grey bathroom.
Rosalie - Very quiet and peaceful, this two-bedded room embodies romanticism thanks to the softness of the pink hues, its "boudoir", its engravings, and the large beautiful and genuine marbled bathroom.
Th?odore de Banville - Inspired by the style of 19th Century grand houses, this bedroom is a bright and cozy haven of peace. The huge bed is topped with embroidered organdie and the walls covered with typical French "toile de Jouy", plenty of storage space is available in the beautifully designed units made out of ancient shutters. The bathroom is one of a country cottage, with a sunken bath, ancient tiled floor and antique mirrors.
Les pastourelles - Feel the charm of the handsome residences found in the Auvergne. The distinction of noble materials, old marble, soft linen, painted panelling, and ceramic basins create an inviting and marvellously snug decor. As the magnificent bathrooms were inspired by region's "cantous", the large fireplaces made for sitting into the night with friends here house an old fashioned cast iron bath behind a very beautiful Canovas fabric.
Les preludes - Les Preludes have been completely redecorated. The lady of the house, Marianne MOREAU, has skillfully put the spotlight on luxurious materials, purple velvet, enamels from Briare inlaid in marble, a dreamlike bathroom painted in shades of off-white, and a bed canopy in silk and linen to create a delightfully theatrical atmosphere.
Amelie - An unforgettable breakfast with Paris as the backdrop.
An unrestricted view of the Eiffel Tower, Sacre Coeur and Arc de Triomphe from the seventh and eighth floors.
A delightful, sun-drenched terrace that gives Am?lie's room a certain indescribable charm.
Paul - Modern, in black and white shades, this room combines well-being with elegance, pleasures that are also found in its white stone slate grey bathroom.
